The Field Notes Report Recognized With Peabody Award For “Best Local Investigative Journalism”

The George Foster Peabody Award is presented by the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication of the University of Georgia.

LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA- Raising the bar for local journalism in Indiana (and indeed, nation-wide,) Lake County based literary journal/parody website The Field Notes Report was recognized for excellence in small town investigative journalism by way of a Peabody Award for its extensive coverage of local food festivals, conspiracy theories, transparent hoaxes, and Reddit.

When approached for comment, the news outlet’s representatives did that “fanning hands motion/make it rain” thing. Upon examination, the bills they littered the immediate area with were counterfeit and featured a portrait of John Larroquette where a President would ordinarily be pictured.
